Water The Drink of Choice

Two Monash University Nutrition and Dietetic students (Tess and Julia) completed an 8 week public health placement with us between March and May 2018. They worked primarily with the Yarra Ranges Integrated Health Planning Group (IHPG) which includes Eastern Health, Inspiro, Women’s Health East, Yarra Ranges Council and ourselves. The IHPG is working together to reduce the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages, and increase the consumption of water in Yarra Ranges.

The project aimed to:

  1. Conduct a literature review to inform future work
  2. Map and analyse current work in Yarra Ranges.
  3. Understand the capacity of the current IHPG partners to work together using a Collective Impact approach.
  4. Identify, engage with and gather data from the IHPG and other potential partners.

Through the project a private interactive website for the IHPG containing the research, outcomes and recommendations was developed along with a final project report.
