Promote Healthy Eating and Food Security

Food security exists when all people at all times have physical, social and economic access to food; which is safe, sustainable and consumed in sufficient quantity and quality to meet their dietary needs and food preferences, allowing for a healthy and active life.

Current Projects:

Early Years

INFANT is a group program that provides families with children between 3-18 months old with information about healthy eating and active play. Read about how INFANT can be implemented in local health organisations.

Healthy Choices

Passionate health promoters from across the seven Eastern local Governments coming together to share ideas and learn from each other as we all work to make the healthy choice the easy choice.

Healthy Persuasion Masterclass

Practitioners from across the Inner and Outer East were invited to The Healthy Persuasion Communications Masterclass that focussed on the topic areas of healthy food, drinks and physical activity.

Student Research

More than a decade of creative and innovative nutrition research projects completed for the Outer East by students from a range of local tertiary institutions.

Water The Drink of Choice

The IHPG is working together to reduce the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages, and increase the consumption of water in Yarra Ranges.
