Early Years

Infant Feeding, Active play and Nutrition (INFANT) was developed by researchers within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN) at Deakin University, to help families establish healthy lifestyle behaviours from the start of life. Offered through existing health services, INFANT provides a social opportunity to support families during the first year of their child’s life.

In 2021, training will be open to Victorian health professionals and staff interested in implementing the INFANT program in their community (e.g., nurses, dietitians, health promotion officers, managers, administration support staff and partner organisations).

The Outer East PCP has prepared a summary of some of the experiences of health organisations implementing INFANT.
