Reducing harms from Alcohol & Other Drugs

What is Alcohol & Other Drugs?

Alcohol continues to be the substance that creates the most harm across the Inner and Outer Eastern Melbourne Region. Rates of ambulance attendance have increased in the last 10 years across the entire region for alcohol, illicit drugs and pharmaceutical drugs.

What OEPCP is doing?

The Outer East PCP works across alcohol prevention strategies and in system change.

PREVENTION: We are working as a key partner of the EMR AAFG providing strategic and administrative support to enhance the groups capacity to work together more effectively and efficiently and to  implement of their Strategic Plan.

SYSTEMS CHANGE: There is a broad spectrum of community-based and residential treatment options available to people experiencing the harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. We are committed to ensuring that these treatment providers provide timely access and greater consistency in referral, information sharing and discharge practices for clients.
