Independent Chair – Eastern Metropolitan Regional Family Violence Partnership


The Eastern Metropolitan Regional Family Violence Partnership (RFVP) is a partnership of organisations committed to working together to address family violence in the Inner and Outer Eastern Department of Health and Human Services areas. The goal of the RFVP is to build a system to support women and children’s safety and hold perpetrators of family violence accountable for their behaviour. The RFVP brings together representation from the human services, health and justice sectors. Our membership includes representatives from Victoria Police, the Magistrates Court, women’s specialist services, men’s services, child and family services, housing services, Child Protection, Aboriginal services, disability advocates and sexual assault services.

The Partnership is currently seeking expressions of Interest from individuals interested in taking on the role of Independent Chair.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Chair with exceptional facilitation and stakeholder management skills. The ability to develop effective and collaborative working relationships in a complex human services or related context is essential. With the credibility and political nous to navigate the multiplicity of issues arising from family violence reforms, you will actively promote constructive cross-sector partnerships and influence public policy debates.

Tenure and Conditions:

The position is funded at 20 hours per month (February-November) for one year and will be reviewed at the end of this period for the possibility of an extended further year. The hours are flexible and allows for opportunities to contribute at a state-wide level.

Remuneration will be $20, 000 per year, with additional provision for travel and accommodation costs as required.

The Partnership was recently involved in a state-wide governance review and recommendations from this work, as well as developing reform initiatives will be incorporated into future directions of the RVFP.

It is expected that the successful applicant will enter into a Contract with the RFVP for the provision of these services.

Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory Police Record Check and Working with Children check.
