Breaking the Ice……Pip Smith
What is rocking your work world today?
Getting creative about ways to engage community about what matters to them – including taking part in the OEPCP Co-design training!
What are you most excited about in your job this year?
Starting a mid-term review of the Community and Council Plan and I am excited to check in with key stakeholders to see how Council, our partners and community are tracking.
Where would you like to see your work go? What are your ambitions?
I’m new to the City Futures team (3 months in) and working outside of the Community Services sector for the first time in my professional career (including 10 years in Youth Services). I am passionate about local government and hope that my work can continue to influence positive community outcomes through improved integrated and inclusive planning.
What do you want to be known for professionally?
As a connector of people and ideas.
In your job, what is something you are proud of?
Supporting different areas of Council to recognise the role they play in strengthening communities and highlighting the value of meaningful engagement and partnerships.
Who inspires you?
Front line service providers – people directly supporting vulnerable people in our community and making a difference in everyday lives.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Take my family to Japan, swim with sea turtles in their natural environment and complete a 10km fun run with my 2 boys!
