The Victorian Labor Government is establishing a Royal Commission into Mental Health to ensure future changes to the mental health system reflect the needs of the community. As part of this, public consultation is being sought to develop the terms of reference for the Royal Commission.
Topics expected to be covered include:
- Prevention and early intervention
- Accessibility and navigation of the system
- Integration with alcohol and other drug services
- Acute and forensic mental health

This is an initial consultation and once the Royal Commission is established, Victorians will be given the opportunity to tell their stories and offer suggestions are part of the hearings and submission process.
